VCP News and Updates

William Roberson
Welcome to the internet home for Vespa Club Portland. The club was founded in 2022 and is currently headed by William Roberson, President, and Jim Myers, Vice President. At this time, there is no membership fee or dues required to join the club. We do urge Vespa owners (and enthusiasts) to join the Vespa Club of America (VCOA) for a small annual fee.
Vespa Club Portland (VCP for short) is a Vespa enthusiast club but we are scooter agnostic and welcome any member who has an appreciation for the rich history of Vespa scooters and other fun social events involving scooters and scooterists. Old or new, Vespa or not, you and your scooter are welcome at VCP events and on VCP rides (provided it can meet basic speed and safety expectations).
While we recognize many Vespa clubs are exclusive to Vespa scooters, VCP takes a more holistic view of scootering and welcomes all scooterists. We are here to meet like-minded riders, explore Portland and the Pacific Northwest on our small but mighty machines. If you have a motorcycle but a love for Vespas, we can probably give you a day pass to join a ride.
2025 will be a busy year for Vespa Club Portland as we are the host city for the national Amerivespa Rally in June. A short time later, the Scooter Cannonball will be leaving from the Oregon Coast. We plan on having a group ride down to the coast to see those brave riders off on an epic adventure to South Padre Island, Texas!! Giddyup!
Besides those events, we will have many other fun rides, both local and distant, along with a monthly Taco Tuesday ride from March through October (and it’s not always tacos!). In the winter, we will have rides as weather allows. Be sure to check back as we build our Events page.
Be sure to sign up for Amerivespa and join the fun as we tour around Portland, but also head for the Oregon Coast and Columbia River Gorge on longer rides with Vespa enthusiasts from all over the U.S. and the world. It’s shaping up to be a great year to ride! Join us!
